Roxie: I received a call from a friend
about a dog living outside, tied to a
tree. Only got fed when the owner
felt like feeding her and kicked her
often. Ron & I went to asses her and
she was a wonderful dog. A little
scared and not too fond of children or
men. We took her home with us and
fostered her. December 2008 she
was officially adopted by Nancy and
Jim. She lives with another dog
named Sarge that she LOVES.

Thor: Rescued from a shelter. 11yrs old.
Thor's owner died & his family dropped him
off at the shelter. He had a sister who got
adopted (she was younger and healthier
looking than Thor). We rescued him and
friends of ours took him for the night. He
had a wonderful meal of chicken and rice
and a great bed to sleep on! He had
massive seizures the next day so we
rushed him to the vet hospital. He
continued to have seizures. He was
extremely underweight. 8:33PM on 1/15/08
Thor went to the Rainbow Bridge. Thank
you to Kelly and Kendal who helped with
his rescue. He did not die in a kennel. He
was loved by myself, Ron, Kelly and Kendal!

Max is very heart breaking. Once
again Ron and I were called upon to
help a dog out of a terrible situation.
Max was tied to a tree and was
starving to death. The pictures here
are good ones compared to when he
was first rescued. Max won our hearts
over as soon as we laid eyes on him.
We believe he was a Mastif/Boxer. He
was only six months old but
extremely tall. Max did not die tied to
a tree, he had a wonderful two days
before he went to the Rainbow Bridge.
He had a wonderful meal and even
stayed overnight at a dog friendly
hotel with Ron. I don't have enough
room to type all I want to about Max

friend who expressed her concern for Mabel about
her being abused and also keeping her tied out in a
very secluded part of the yard. We went to access
her. She was very timid. The owner had about 2
acres of land. In the very back of the yard you could
see one metal poll sticking up out of the ground.
That is where Mabel spent most of her time, all
alone! We had a friend foster Mabel and she found
her a wonderful home. A single girl who loves to
hike and be outdoors adopted Mabel.

If you're a frequent visitor to the BFPA Web site, you've seen Sally on our homepage. She
was admitted to the BFPA foster network almost 2 years ago, and for a year has been
boarded at Suite Paws Pet Resort & Spa while we searched for an adoption home.
Sally had to be boarded because simply she does not like other dogs -- and BFPA had no
foster homes WITHOUT other dogs. Our prayers were answered when Alvester Parker
(front left, kneeling) met Sally. They're a match made in Heaven. This photo is from Sally's
send-off from Suite Paws on Sat., Feb. 27, 2010. Kneeling to the right is Ron Warren and
behind him wife Maureen, both have been Sally's most devoted advocates. Standing l-to-r
are Laura Muntel (owner of Suite Paws), Trish Davis (who has kept Sally at her home on
occasion), and Janis and Peter Marlin, who devoted countless hours over the past year
going to Suite Paws to play with Sally and take her on outings. BFPA is grateful to all who
love this wonderful, deserving dog.
